What our Clients say about ChiroMed Plus: FEEDBACK REGARDING THE LASER TREATMENT AND RESPONSE FROM MY PATIENTS By: Jill E. Thompson, MD Over the last several months I have referred multiple patients for treatment by Dr. Bryant, who utilizes the newest development of laser therapy for control of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. The majority of my patients are evaluated and treated by me for injuries sustained during a motor vehicle accident or other trauma. Typically they present with deep, ongoing myofascial discomfort, nerve root irritation, muscle spasms, and radicular symptoms. As well as prescribing medications, recommending home exercises, modifying activities and increasing rest, patients are frequently sent for therapy with chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapist, acupuncturists, etc. While these therapies may be helpful, it is not uncommon to deal with patients who do not benefit from the standard treatment regimen. As I am always in search of new and improved techniques, I became aware of Dr. Bryant’s most recent addition to his arsenal of treatments. Over the last 3-4 months, I have sent many individuals to-trial the laser therapy. To my surprise and delight, there have been excellent results, with obvious improvement in symptoms and decrease in discomfort, many times after only a few sessions. Patients have been very impressed with, and grateful for, the new development. Sometimes hopeless and exhausted after attempting a host of unsuccessful conventional treatments, patients note significant overall relief in pain, which assists in a generalized improvement in mood and motivation. The Class IV laser has also proven beneficial in the treatment of migraine headaches, plantar fascitis, arthritic joint pain, disc disease and/or injury of the neck and back, sports related discomfort, and any inflammatory musculoskeletal processes. I have stopped reserving the laser treatments for hard to manage patients, but consider it in my first line of therapeutic options. This advanced laser treatment has proven itself superior to older laser technology, and I would endorse it to all my fellow medical care providers. D. B. – Age 46 During the past 20 years I’ve had both a left knee and back injury. Arthritis has developed in my knee and lower back. When I first came to see Dr. Bryant, my pain levels were affecting my work and my leisure time. My experience with the Deep Tissue Laser Therapy was excellent. After the first series of treatments on my knee, and a few on my back, I had about a 90% improvement in pain relief, and relief from the swelling and crunchie feeling in my knee joints. This relief lasted around 5-6 months. I’ve just completed a short series of 5 more treatments, with the same excellent results, which I expect will last another 5 or 6 months.
Jerry S. – Age 45 My name is Jerry S., and I was in an auto accident a few months ago. When the accident happened, my head hit the windshield and shoved my head down with enough force to rupture a disk. This caused major headaches, because of swelling and inflamed tissue. The pain also caused me to be out of work for 8 weeks, which made matters worse for me, especially financially. Dr. Bryant used a procedure with a laser, and in about 4 or 5 visits, he had me feeling like a new person. I was completely amazed, and I would recommend the Deep Tissue Laser Therapy treatment to everyone with pain that thinks there is no help for them. I would personally like to thank Dr. Bryant for all his help. I am a believer, and now living pain free.
P. M. – Age 62 I have suffered with Fibromyalgia since 2001. It’s a very painful “chronic” condition that I have resolved to live with for the rest of my life. However, sometimes the pain was so intense, that I desperately wanted some relief (even for a little while). I‘ve tried just about everything to get just a “little” relief from the pain, but nothing worked. This past year I was so desperate to find some relief that I researched everywhere looking for any help I could get. Then one Sunday I read an ad in the newspaper and learned about Dr. Bryant and the Laser therapy he was using to help his patients with their pain. I was willing to try anything new… It only took a few treatments to feel the difference in my body. The pain was not awful anymore and not ALWAYS there. My mobility improved, and I am now able to do some simple activities that I haven’t been able to do in years. I am now on an on-going maintenance program so that I can continue to get relief from the pain and have an improved quality of life – the treatments are so worth it!
Gayrie C. – Age 78 I came to ChiroMed Plus and Dr. Bryant with several problems, my neck and mind back, and my left knee. The worse problem has been my knee which was very painful, with a constant dull ache, and burning and stabbing pain in the knee and down my leg. I rated my pain level at a level 8 when I began. After 12 treatments with the laser, I am having more good days, and haven’t had any real bad days in more than a week. I’m still getting up at night occasionally, but I have not needed pain medication, nor have I had to pack my knee in ice as I had to do before. Walking around a bit is sufficient, and I can get right back to sleep. I’ve also noticed that I can get in an out of the car, and up and down from a chair, better.
Lena B. – Age 84 For over 2 years I have had severe pain in my lower back, with neuropathy radiating down the right leg, and now also my left leg, and into my feet. On a pain scale of 1-10, my low back, hips, legs and feet, were the worst pain possible at a level 10 much of the time. I am about half way through the treatment program, and when I hurt more than usual, it is not as bad as when I first came. I don’t hurt all the time as I did before, and when I do hurt, it usually doesn’t last long. My low back is now at a pain level of 2, and the neuropathy in my legs and feet have reduced to a pain level of around 5.
Susan B. – Age 67 I have suffered with back pain for many years. When I first came to see Dr. Bryant for laser and chiropractic therapy, my pain level in my low back and hips was around a level 5, which is pretty bad pain, though not yet at the unbearable stages of 8, 9, or 10. I’m not quite at the half-way point of my treatment plan, but I am moving better and having less pain. The pain level now is around a 1-2 low level. Even if I move wrong and experience a short severe pain, it subsides rapidly.
Bobby B. – Age 58 My symptoms began after surgery in 2000. I had burning pain in my left leg, and cramps and stiffness in my right leg. I rated the pain in my leg at the unbearable level 10. I came to Dr. Bryant hopping for relief of pain and aid in walking better, and improvement in my nervous system. I’ve had to use 2 crutches to assist walking. After the first month of treatment, the burning pain in my left leg was reduced to a level 3 or 4, and the pain in the hip was reduced to a level 1. The stiffness and cramps in my right leg was reduced to a level 2, and overall, my body stiffness has improved. During the second month of therapy, I was walking often without the use of the E-Stem. I noticed that I am beginning to walk, able to pick up my foot when I focus. I could not pick up my foot before I began laser therapy. I used to use the E-Stem at the level 5 or 6 setting, and now a lower level 3 is helping. I am also able to reduce the number of times I need pain medication, and when I do take it, it is more effective. I am now able to do rehab better, without having several days of additional pain after each session.
